Bio on Foxfire Photographer

To start this bio right, we will start from the beginning. In 2009 Tyanna discovered the world of photography after losing her boyfriend in a tragic car accident. Photography distracted Tyanna from the grief. Little did she know that it would grow into so much more!

Tyanna began by taking action pictures of the local gymnasts which sparked something bigger inside of her. She expanded her fine art photography skill while vacationing in Flagstaff and Florida with occasional visits to California. Little did she know, Tyanna’s hobby would turn into something more. Friends and family asked her to take pictures for them which transformed into an art which, the more she used this skill, the more she fell in love with it.

The Start of Foxfire

At 18, Tyanna bought a business license with her mom, Julie, as co-owner of CamGirlPhoto. The gymnasts who attended spring break camp gave Tyanna the nickname “Camera girl” which inspired the name for Tyanna’s business. This is the nickname they preferred on their camp shirts, as well. The volunteers signed these shirts and, of course, Tyanna was also expected to sign them but only as “camera girl.” However, due to unfortunate circumstances and an inappropriate term that circulated after Tyanna chose this name, Tyanna had to change the name. She did not want her business associated with this inappropriate term.

After much deliberation and thought, Tyanna & Julie came across the name “Foxfire”. This name is actually one of a special fungus that glows in the dark. Sometimes it glows green & in rare cases it glows red. Tyanna hopes that her pictures light the memories from long ago and set your heart aglow while capturing these special fragments in your life. Tyanna also likes how this name is a lot like her faith, in that, with Christ we have a beautiful light.

~”You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”~ Matthew 5:14-16

Bio on the History

Homeschooled throughout high school, Tyanna continued cheer at Lake Havasu High School. Tyanna finished high school at 16, got her GED at 17, and enrolled at Mohave Community College. She received her Associate’s Degree in Graphic & Web Design at the age of 19 since there was no photography courses. This didn’t stop her, though! Tyanna spent many hours researching photography to build her skill. She also attended photography workshops, a workshop with Arizona Highways, and learned indoor portrait lighting from a professional photographer at her church. All of this correlated to further her photography knowledge. Tyanna learned and continues to learn everything that she needs to know about her passion. She strives to be the best photographer she can be to provide you with pictures you will love.

A Little Side-note

Tyanna is now 25 years old continuing photography at her business Foxfire Photo. Not only is Tyanna expanding her portrait portfolio but she is also extending her fine art collection under “Tyanna Renee’”. Her future goal is to add to her bio by opening a gallery one day where she can display, not only her fine art, but local artists from the high school and community, as well. Tyanna, born in Flagstaff, AZ and raised from 3 months old in Lake Havasu, AZ, has a yearning to see more of God’s beauty around the U.S. and someday the world!
